CAREER AS PROMOTOR :

I started my career as local promotor in 1980, introducing FSK & KB title fights in Curaçao for youth-junior and adults athletes. My international promotions started in 1991 in Curaçao with TB championshipfights:

* Curaçao vs Holland with support of Mr. Thom Harinch from Holland.
* Curaçao vs Aruba
* Curaçao vs Thailand

In 1998 I introduced in Curaçao MMA which included: karate FC- boxing-kickboxing and also the first FF matches Curaçao vs Holland and Sint maarten vs Holland with help of Jerry Kalia freefighter of Holland.

Since 2001 I promote FC-KB-TB only under supervision of WKN in Curaçao with official recognized WKN champions title & champions belts.

WHY PROMOTING WKN ?

I promote WKN because this wolrd organization is a real martial arts netwrok. You get all the styles under one solid roof and you are easy and quick connected with all the continents and WKN areas around the world. Stef Cabrera is a real friend; As matchmaker,supervisor, manager and Martial arts world president he is a superb. A combination of spiderman and superman in his network.

INVOLVED IN THE KICKBOXING SPORT AS FIGHTER/ COACH TRAINER ?

Just to confirm myself I have won the Caribbean title & belt under WMTA rules in 1991. The I defended my title with succes in 1992. After that I went on as trainer of champions preparing multiple national and international champions.

HOW MANY SHOWS PROMOTED ?

I have promoted many shows. Among the best are real Deal I, II and III; Curaça vs the Caribbean (KB 7TB 2 times); Curaçao vs Holland (FF).

BEST SHOW UNTIL NOW ?
My best show has still to come. I always like to surpass the last one.

WORKING WITH TV NETWORKS ?

Until now only Local and National TV channel (TV-11 and TeleCuraçao)

THE BEST STAND UP ALLROUND FIGHTER IN THE WORLD AT THE MOMENT ?

I think it’s Samir “the prince” (FRA). He is hard to beat in: boxing- fullcontact- kickboxing- thaiboxing. He does all the styles almost perfect. In the Caribbean it’s Loris ADOUI (Guada) a strong, tough and smart fighter, a real gladiator.

IDEAL FIGHT TO PROMOTE ?

If it’s before the end of 2009: a great fight will be Loris ADOUI vs Tanfa KETKAVEE (Dutch marine in Curaçao, born in Thailand). this means really “war of titans”.

COMMENTS ABOUT MUAY THAI NOWADAYS ?

This is a very though sport: athletes under 18 yrs should be well protected by rules and protective gears. If practiced the correct way a real muay thai fighter is an allround fighter:
he fights close distance with clinching and throwing techniques,
short distance with elbows and knees
mid distance with punches and kicks
lond distance with stretched kicks
Fighters from French Caribbean and the Dutch caribbean are among the best in caribbean Muay Thai.

BEST MEMORY OF A PROMOTED SHOW ?

When WKN world president M. Stephane Cabrera came to Curaçao as special guest during my first CARIBBEAN MINI GRAND PRIX in Curaçao. A big honor for me and Curaçao.

FUTURE PLANS AND GOALS ?

I am planning to start some new projects saving kids from the streets giving them new hope and opportunities to become succesful citizen and at the same time building the new and also the next generation in WKN Curaçao.
