WKN ENGLAND

eng1.jpgReport by WKN WORLD DIRECTOR : M. Billy MURRAY
WKN – World champion Riyadh Al Azzawi – London
The WKN’s long wait was over for for an event back in London – since Ali-Jacko was the king of the square ring promotions there. Brothers Riyadh and Mohammed Al Azzawi topped the bill at the Porchester hall in London. The packed hall witnessed scenes of old as a full international fight card of kickboxing was on display. Top of the bill was England’s Riyadh Al Azzawi ( IRAK.UK) faced Poland’s world champion Tomasz Borowiec in what was dubbed by many as the fight of the night.

It was tit-for-tat war from round one to round twelve – Riyadh Al Azzawi is the current WKN British and European champion and showed why he was challenging for the world title – Al Azzawi showed the heart and courage of a true champion as he straggled to breathe, it was the result of a badly broken nose sustained in the early rounds.

That did not deter the British Iraqi who took the fight to the champion as he continued his quest for glory. Round 10 was a turning point in the fight that’s when Al Azzawi caught the Polish champion with a right hand putting him down for a count of eight – The fight went right to the end of the twelfth round.
It was a tense time as the judges took time to deliberated the verdict Finally the decision – Riyadh Al Azzawi received the nod from two judges to one who went for Tomasz Borowiec.

Ryadh Al Azzawi wins THE FAMOUS WKN WORLD CHAMPION BELT and give to IRAK his first WORLD KICKBOXING CHAMPION .

Bulgarian George Ilian ILIEV came to London with a good reputation but that was soon tested with the kicking power of Mohammed Al Azzawi. The Londoner, Al Azzawi had the Bulgarian on the canvas in the opening seconds with a brilliant side kick which saw Bob Hunter administer a mandatory 8 count. From then on in it was on onslaught as Llieve was on the back foot and still in a daze from the knockdown.
Down a second time went the Bulgarian ILIEV but there was to be no third as the corner had seen enough and saved their man.
Mohammed Al Azzawi is the new European Full-Contact champion at 85,5 kg.

Other results:

Scotland’s Alexander White was stopped in the first round in his first low leg kick fight. Young Northern Irish kickboxer Mark Bird showed his class with a tough and un-gamely fighter. Bird wins on points. Stuart Jess was awarded a draw when many ringsiders thought that he done enough to take the decision.
Other big names from the world of kickboxing helped out with the event where – Tim Izil, Bill Judd Kash Gill, Habib Bakir, Cezar Podraza and Gary Langford.

Congratulations and a big well done to every one involved with the show
