WKN Mayotte: Andifita Mahery becomes the first WKN World champion crowned in Indian Ocean


Mayotte: King of Kickboxing results

World Championship reached Indian Ocean on Friday July 27 with the “King of Kickboxing” promotion held in Dzaoudzi, Mayotte. The event took place at the Gymnase De Labattoir live on KWEZI TV, featuring a stacked card with local and international competitors coming from Madagascar, Tanzania and Reunion Island.

Furthermore, the event, promoted by Abdallah Salim, made history. It was the first time when a prestigious World Kickboxing Network championship belt was contested in Indian Ocean.

On the top of the fight bill Hirachidine Saindou of Mayotte faced off Andifita Mahery of Madagascar. The pair battled out for WKN World Welterweight title.

The scheduled for five rounds championship bout went the distance. Mahery took the win by decision, and as a result became a new champion in the division.

In the co-main event Jerome Valla of Mayotte took on Saleh Abdallah of Tanzania. The pair contested for WKN InterContinental Welterweight title. The local fighter scored the decision, consequently taking the belt.

Also on the card Pierre Voari of Madagascar stopped Moussa Raphael of Tanzania, earning WKN Indian Ocean Welterweight regional title. In addition, Boris Silva of Reunion Island claimed a decision against Jumanne Simba of Tanzania, and received WKN Indian Ocean Super Welterweight strap.

The women’s contest between Joice Ojina of Kenya and Larissa Razanamialy of Madagascar, was cancelled due to VISA issue of the latter.
